Hi - I'm Dan Lerman.
Â

Columbia professor. SAT whisperer. World-class educator.
I’m Dan Lerman, PhD — a globally sought-after tutor known for igniting academic passion and inspiring personal growth. With 19 years of experience, a doctorate in Cognitive Science, and elite scores to back it up, I’ve helped thousands of students boost their test scores, unlock creativity, and fall in love with learning.
I began my career as a Colet Fellow at St. Paul’s School (London), then brought my hands-on, creative style to Saint Ann’s School (Brooklyn), teaching science, psychology, and theater. I’ve worked with Kaplan, Manhattan GMAT (where my boss was Andrew Yang), and founded Latitude Tutors — which I sold after six successful years.
Today, I train the next generation of elite educators at Columbia University and lead the League of Exceptional Tutors, a global network of the best minds in education. I also run the Humans Teach Foundation (AI literacy) and The Backyard Comedy Series (fighting loneliness through laughter).
Bonus facts: I’ve acted in a film with Ethan Hawke (kind of), trained as a clown (yes, really), and currently co-host a YouTube channel with 110K subscribers while leading a thriving global SAT community (J.E.D.I. Training — 563 members and counting).
Whether you have questions about SAT, ACT, any other test, or you’re just looking to connect, I’d love to hear from you!
